Taster Days

If you do not yet feel that you are in a position to take a course, or indeed would rather not undertake a formal course but would prefer some general guidance, then one of our taster days is for you.

Canals

Get a good idea of what the waterway style of life is about with our Canal Boating Taster Days.

Come and try a day on a narrow boat with us on the Trent and Mersey Canal. You can bring along up to six guests for a day wondering on the stretch of canal between Stenson and Burton on Trent. For the cruise Ray or another Instructor will of course accompany you.

All on board (if they wish) can take their turn at steering the boat and learning some basic skills. This is a relaxing day out that will include lunch and beverages throughout the cruise.

Rivers

You can if you wish also have a taster day on the River Trent in either a Dutch Barge or the recently retired Nottinghamshire Police Launch. Both craft are interesting vessels the barge being built in 1928 and the launch built in 1951. In addition we have a variety of Narrow Boats and a twin screw vessel for Taster and Instructional days.

Again these are not instructional days but are primarily days to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Of course when you are on board basic instruction will be given so that you can truly appreciate the waterway you are on and comprehend what knowledge is required to safely navigate a boat.
